Vegan Wontons

A wonton is a type of Chinese dumpling that typically contain meats and veggies but these little parcels of plant-based deliciousness are completely meat-free and are filled with shredded veggies and vegan cheese.

  • 0.25 0.25 pack Violife EPIC Mature Cheddar Flavour Grated
  • 0.25 0.25 pack wonton skin (10Χ10 cm)
  • 0.75 0.75 spring onions (sliced)
  • 0.125 0.125 leek (chopped)
  • 0.5 0.5 carrots (sliced in small cubes)
  • 1.25 1.25 mushrooms champignon (sliced)
  • 0.25 0.25 onion (sliced)
  • fresh parsley (sliced)
  • 0.5 0.5 garlic cloves (sliced)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt & freshly ground pepper
  • sunflower oil

Method

  1. In a large frying pan sauté the veggies with a bit of olive oil over medium heat. Remove pan from heat, season with a bit of salt and pepper, add parsley and Violife EPIC Mature Cheddar Flavour Grated and stir thoroughly.
  2. Place a heaping teaspoon of filling in the centre of the wonton. Brush water on all edges of the wonton skin, covering 1/4 inch from the edge. Fold to form a “flower”, sealing the edges.
  3. In a large pot add sunflower oil and deep fry until the wontons become golden brown.
  4. Drain and serve with a sweet and sour vegan sauce.
