Loaded Vegan Dirty Fries

This recipe will create enough to serve 2 people as a main, or 4 people as a side dish.

We’ve just used standard shop-bought chips to make these loaded vegan dirty fries, but you can make your own at home so easily!

Take a baking potato, cut it into chunks, and you can either deep-fry, oven-bake or even air-fry your own chips and season with anything you like. We love adding a bit of rosemary salt to ours.

Is guacamole vegan?

Yes, guacamole is vegan. Some store-bought guacamole may contain dairy to make it creamier, but we think homemade vegan guacamole is unbeatable.

Our recipe combines sweet cherry tomatoes, red onions, and lime juice to add texture and flavour to the guacamole.

There is the age-old debate questioning ‘are avocados vegan?’, but most people agree that they are vegan-friendly.

  • For the guacamole
  • 1 1 large ripe avocados
  • 0.5 0.5 small clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 0.5 0.5 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 small red onion, peeled and finely diced
  • 4 4 cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 0.5 0.5 large mild red chilli pepper
  • sea salt and black pepper, to taste
  • For the salsa
  • 100 100 g chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 0.5 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 small red onion, peeled and diced
  • 0.5 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 0.5 tsp red wine vinegar
  • sea salt and black pepper, to taste
  • The 'dirty' toppings
  • pickled jalapenos
  • grated vegan cheese
  • spring onion, sliced
  • refried beans
  • vegan sour cream
  • coriander
  • vegan bacon
  • hot sauce
  • For the fries
  • fries of your choice


  1. Cook the fries according to pack instructions or in your preferred way.
  2. Add all the ingredients for the guacamole to a bowl and roughly mash together with a fork. Season to taste.
  3. In another bowl, repeat the same process with the salsa ingredients.
  4. When ready to serve, arrange your fries on a plate, bowl or serving platter and top with the guacamole, salsa and ingredients of your choice. Serve immediately.
