What is AppleSkin?

Sustainable fashion starts with selecting environmentally friendly materials.

The relatively recent material AppleSkin, also known as Apple Leather, is a cruelty-free alternative to animal leather.

It’s a highly sustainable material made from the leftover pomace and peel that is produced from the waste of the apple juice industry.

Ethically made in Italy, this material uses the leftovers of apples that, before this industry came to be, were just discarded and unused.

Why use AppleSkin?

There are a lot of benefits to using AppleSkin instead of animal leather.

The first one is that this material is 100% cruelty-free and doesn’t have a lot of impact on the environment. This emission lowering material is practical beyond belief, endlessly versatile, and gorgeous to look at.

A zero-impact material, this bio-based and vegan fabric saves 5.28KG of CO2 for every kilogram (KG) of apple residue used instead of raw chemical materials.

By using the leftovers of the apple, by choosing AppleSkin, the brand re-uses the supposed waste, protects ecosystems, and increases sustainability.

The two models created with AppleSkin are called Jabel and Finna.

The first one, Jabel, is a women’s flat, backless sandal with toe straps crafted from AppleSkin and Organic Cotton.

With the combination of a sleek black fabric finish and the raw touch of ethical cotton, these open-toe shoes embrace a minimalist style.

Simple but striking, this model is a fresh, versatile, and contemporary sandal you won’t want to take off. They will match perfectly with several outfits for many occasions, whilst being comfortable for all-day wear, both indoors and out.

The second model, Finna, is also a women’s flat, backless sandals with toe straps made from AppleSkin and Organic Cotton.

More of an open model compared to the first one, these sandals give you all the comfort and elegance needed for a summer day.

Both the lining and insole are made with hypoallergenic materials free from dangerous environmental toxins. These sandals are breathable, able to avoid foot sweat, and antibacterial and antimicrobial, which helps to prevent the development of odours.
