Tesco
Tesco paved the way for plant-based innovation in UK supermarkets with the launch of their Wicked Kitchen range, so it’s no surprise to see their vegan Christmas range is a very jolly affair!
This year, you can enjoy a very vegan Christmas as Tesco has something for everyone, from ‘rock stars who are eating less meat or are full on vegan’ with a range of innovative plant-based dishes so you can enjoy a delicious dinner with all the trimmings.
Party Food
Wow your guests this Christmas with an impressive spread of party food favourites such as Plant Chef No Mozzarella Sticks filled with mozzarella-style vegan cheese covered in a crispy breadcrumb coating.
Your guests won’t believe them when you tell them the Wicked Kitchen No-Chicken Drumettes (£4) are plant-based, but they are!
The new finger-licking drumettes come with a wicked spicy golden crumb and will be the talk of the party when your guests find out they’re meat-free.
You’ll also find Wicked Kitchen No-Prawn Firecracker Dippers on offer. These prawn-free nibbles look and taste like the real deal but are made from soybeans seasoned with kicks of spice and a smoky BBQ sauce.
Plant Chef BBQ Jackfruit Bon Bons
From September 14th, you’ll also find Plant Chef BBQ Jackfruit Bon Bons (£2 for 8) on sale. These tasty bites feature pulled jackfruit coated in a crunchy seasoned crumb and a sweet and smoky barbecue sauce.
Wicked Kitchen Wellington
If you are a Wellington fan then you’ll be pleased to hear you won’t have to spend hours making your own this year as Tesco is offering a Wicked Kitchen Wellington (£7.00) that serves four hungry people.
The hand-rolled ‘No-Beef’ wellington is the perfect plant-based centrepiece and is filled with a tasty seasoned pea protein, onion and garlic sautéed porcini and chestnut mushroom duxelles all wrapped up in flaky pastry. You can find this one in stores and online from November 30th.
Wicked Kitchen No-Turkey Roast Crown
Give turkeys a break this year with the brand new Wicked Kitchen No-Turkey Roast Crown (£5.00). This impressive easy-carve main will delight your guests and is made with savoury soy and wheat protein topped with vegan coconut melt and a sage and onion stuffing crumb. New for 2020, this one is launching on 23rd November.
Tesco Plant Chef Meat-Free Festive Vegan Roast
Tesco will truly make you wonder why anyone still eats meat with its next new meat-free main for 2020 – the Tesco Plant Chef Meat-Free Festive Vegan Roast (£6.00).
This hogless log-shaped centrepiece is made with pea protein and caramelised red onions and is served with a sweet Merlot red wine glaze. Grab the roast from 30th November.
Plant Chef Festive Nut Roast & Gravy
If you’re looking for a classic nut roast then look no further than the Plant Chef Festive Nut Roast & Gravy. This wonderfully texture peanut and hazelnut roast is studded with apricots and cranberries and comes ready to serve with a sachet of onion gravy.
Plant Chef Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls
The supermarket is launching a completely meat-free roast this year, so of course, they had to launch some plant-based stuffing to give vegans the full cruelty-free Christmas roast experience too!
The Plant Chef Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls (£2.00 for 12) are made with pea protein and vegetable suet with sage and onion and will be available to purchase from 23rd November.
Wicked Kitchen Ginger Chai Cake
Before you fall asleep on your sofa after this vegan feast, make sure you cut yourself a slice of the new Wicked Kitchen Ginger Chai Cake (£9.00).
Spiced with seasonal flavours, this ginger-spiced chai tea-soaked cake is hand frosted, dusted with cinnamon-sugar and topped with caramelised ginger pieces for a truly special Christmas centrepiece. You’ll find this on sale from September 28th.
Sainsbury’s
This year, Sainsbury’s has worked hard to make sure that their offering for the 2020 festive season will ‘impress, and make this Christmas feel truly magical’.
Party Food
Sainsbury’s is ensuring you can still enjoy your own Christmas party at home with its tempting selection of plant-based party foods launching in store on 18th November which includes a range of innovative offerings such as the Plant Pioneers No Belly Pork Bites (£3.30).
There’s also Sweet & Smoky BBQ Jackfruit Bao Buns (£3.30), Sweet Chilli Cauliflower Bites (£3) and if you’re looking for the perfect snack to serve your guests this Christmas.
Another novel new nibble joining the party food line-up comes in the form of the Plant Pioneers No Fish and Chips (£4). These delicious, vegan bites are made from lightly battered jackfruit and oyster mushrooms topped with vibrant mushy peas and potato chips.
Plant Pioneers No Beef Wellington
There’s no need to compromise with a vegan Christmas dinner this year with the showstopping Plant Pioneers No Beef Wellington (£3) which is filled with an indulgent mushroom duxelle with spinach and a kick of horseradish, all tucked up tight in crispy and flaky vegan puff pastry. You’ll find this in store from 9th December.
Plant Pioneers No Turkey Parcels
Offering a tasty alternative to poultry, the Plant Pioneers No Turkey Parcels (£6) are a meat-free marvel with turkey-flavoured seitan, filled with rich sage and onion stuffing all wrapped up with a delicious smoky Vacon rasher. Pick this up in store from 9th December.
If you prefer more traditional vegan options then the Mushroom & Chesnut Roast (£3) with crisp cashews almonds and pistachios in a savoury mushroom, butternut squash and spinach base with tangy cranberries is bound to please. This one launches on 10th November.
Sides
Sainsbury’s has even got sides covered to take the stress out of cooking on the big day with Roasting Potatoes (£2.00), Maple & Thyme Parsnips (£2.50), a cheesy Cauliflower Bake (£2.50) also joining the range.
If you really feel like pushing the boat out (it’s Christmas so you have plenty of excuses too!) then pick up the Plant Pioneers Potato Dauphinoise (£2.50) made from thinly sliced potatoes in garlic, nutmeg, vegan cheddar sauce topped with crunchy breadcrumbs.
Plant Pioneers Chocolate Salted Caramel Star
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a delicious dessert, and this year Sainsbury’s has the indulgent Plant Pioneers Chocolate Salted Caramel Star – a dairy-free panna cotta style treat made with rich Belgian dark chocolate and salted caramel sauce.

Morrisons
The UK supermarket has a tasty selection of main dishes coming to stores that offer a delicious alternative to turkey as well as starters and a trio of impressive desserts.
No Pigs in Blankets
The classic cocktail-sausage starter has been given a meat-free makeover at Morrisons this year with the No Pigs in Blankets, a vegan version of Pigs and Blankets that sees herby cocktail sausages wrapped in a smoky ‘no bacon’ rashers. Grab them in store from 23rd November.
Tempura No-Prawns And No-Duck Spring Rolls
Take your tastebuds on a journey with the Tempura No-Prawns And No-Duck Spring Rolls. Perfect for party snacking, this selection pack features meat-free prawns and duck rolls made from jackfruit in tempura batter. Pick them up in store from 23rd November.
Vegan Christmas Star Tarte
If you’re looking for a main that delivers on both taste and looks this Christmas then take a look at Morrisons new Vegan Christmas Star Tarte.
This aesthetically pleasing dish features a vibrant blend of sweet potato, parsnip and mushrooms in a creamy sauce made from coconut oil alternative to cheddar, cream cheese and mozzarella, finished with delicious dollops of applesauce, topped with festive fruit and seeded crumble and a hand placed golden puff pastry star. Looking to keep it traditional? Why not try the Beefless Wellington with a cranberry, apricot and chestnut duxelle and wholegrain mustard melt centre all wrapped up in crisp golden puff pastry. You’ll find this in store from 23rd November.
Vegan Trifle
For the first time ever, Morrisons is launching a fully vegan trifle with fruity strawberry sauce and boudoir biscuits layered with vanilla custard and topped with whipped vegan cream, hand finished with a golden shimmer. Find it in store from 21st December.
Vegan Lemon Shimmering Semifreddo
The Vegan Lemon Shimmering Semifreddo is a mouth-watering option for fans of frozen desserts with its luscious layers of light vanilla sponge topped with lemon semifreddo, tangy lemon sauce and finished with golden shimmery glaze. Pick it up in store from 6th October
Gingerbread Doughnuts
Finally, fans of the supermarket’s seasonal doughnut flavours will be pleased to hear the vegan-friendly Gingerbread Doughnuts are also back again this year to enjoy. Grab them in store from 16th November.

Christmas simply wouldn’t be Christmas without a mince pie in one hand and a glass of mulled wine in the other, and this year Morrisons has put a tasty twist on a classic with its Maple Crumble Mince Pies. These vegan and gluten-free miniature mince pies are filled with raisins, sultanas and apple purée with a maple-flavoured crumble topping.

We’re obsessed with this novel chocolate treat that makes for both after-dinner entertainment and dessert!
In order to play, simply tilt the gluten-free and vegan chocolate board to get the balls in the holes before rewarding themselves with a chocolatey treat.
Waitrose
Breaded Vegan Baking Melts
Waitrose is ensuring vegans can once again enjoy the delights of dunking into a big melty cheese with pieces of crusty bread as it gets set to launch its new Breaded Vegan Baking Melts with Redcurrent Relish (£4 for 2).
These dairy-free cheese melts are filled with ‘gooey, moreish, melting coconut-based vegan cheese’ with a hot, golden crisp breadcrumb exterior.
Festive Filo Swirls
Offering something a little different to the usual festive fare this year, Waitrose is also releasing Festive Filo Swirls (£6.99 for 2) filled with Moroccan inspired spiced vegetables with apricots and raisins in crispy filo pastry.
Roasted Roots with Carrot & Parsnip Falafel Wrap
Enjoy some festive cheer on your lunchbreak as Waitrose also has a new vegan wrap coming to stores for Christmas – the Roasted Roots with Carrot & Parsnip Falafel Wrap (£3.30).
This hearty spinach tortilla wrap is filled with seasoned sweet potato, carrot and parsnip falafel, cannellini bean and parsnip houmous, braised red cabbage relish and spinach.

Asda
Asda recently hit headlines as the first supermarket in the UK to launch a dedicated ambient vegan aisle in 359 of its stores, but it’s Christmas range is nothing short of staggering with a whopping 48 new plant-based products launching in its festive range.
Bao Buns
Tuck into fluffy vegan Bao Buns filled with fragrant Asian flavours and spices, including BBQ jackfruit, Char Sui Mushroom and Massaman Vegetable.
There’s also a Mexican-style vegan selection which includes mini chilli bean burritos and vegetable nacho triangles as well as an Oriental selection which includes mini duckless spring rolls, katsu won tons and vegetable fritters (pictured on the dish above).
Vegan Turkey Roast
Asda’s fully vegan turkey is the “perfect pick” for vegans looking to enjoy a cruelty-free Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. The realistic roasting joint is made from a blend of seasoned soya-protein and seasoned filled with a caramelised onion and herb stuffing.
You can load up your plate with all the trimmings as the supermarket will also be offering plant-based Chestnut, Cranberry and Apple Stuffing Balls and soy-based Spiced Apple and Orange Cocktail Sausages picture around the roast above.
Savoury Yule Log
This Wellington-inspired dish is filled with veggie mince combined with chestnuts and cranberries all wrapped in flaky puff pastry and topped with a sage and onion herb sprinkle.
Christmas Cottage Dessert
Putting a new spin on the classic gingerbread house, the supermarket has created a Christmas Cottage Dessert for Christmas 2020.
This creamy dessert hides a chocolate mousse centre laced with a tangy morello cherry compote atop a tiffin base made with chopped dates, raisins and dark chocolate encased in a dark chocolate shell.
Aldi
Budget retailer Aldi is whetting our appetites with its tasty range of vegan and vegetarian Christmas foods for 2020 coming to stores this September.
Plant Menu Vegan Turkey
Aldi’s Plant Menu Vegan Turkey is a tasty alternative to turkey made from soya and filled with cranberry, red pepper, apricot and pumpkin seed stuffing, and coated in a barbecue flavour glaze. Find it in the frozen aisle from 16th November.
The supermarket is also selling three varieties of its Specially Selected Vegan Stuffing Balls that would be the perfect accompaniment to the plant-based turkey. Flavours include cranberry, apricot & mandarin, or sage & onion.
Party Food
New for 2020, the handmade Vegan Thai Roses (pictured above) are filled with a vegetable filling, curry paste, spices and wrapped in filo pastry. There’s also No Duck Spring Rolls and Vegetable Tempura Nests to help you create the perfect party platter.
Vegan Fusion Skewers
You’ll also find Vegan Fusion Skewers in freezers from 26 October which promise to bring a pop of colour to your party spread. These bright vegetable skewers come in three flavours: sweet chilli, satay and Thai green curry.
Plant Menu Vegan Pigs in Blankets
Aldi is also offering a vegan version of pigs in blankets in the form of its Plant Menu Vegan Pigs in Blankets. The puff pastry wrapped vegan cocktail sausages are perfect for Christmas party nibbles. They’ll be in chillers from 19 December.
Vegan Hamper
Looking for the perfect gift for friends and family? Look no further than Aldi’s Vegan Hamper (£29.99) for 2020 which contains a delicious selection of plant-based goodies to tuck into including a Christmas pudding, fruit cake bar, Medjool dates, chocolate truffles, dairy-free creams, tea and a Chilean Merlot.
Co-op
Vegan No Turkey Lunch
Co-op is making sure you can enjoy a taste of Christmas dinner long before the big day with its Vegan No Turkey Lunch sandwich (£3).
Containing all the elements of a Christmas dinner rolled into one, the seasonal sarnie contains vegan turkey made from soya protein with vegan bread sauce, roasted carrot and parsnip, cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing and vegan mayonnaise on sage and onion bread.
For the first time ever, Co-op is offering the sandwich as part of a fully vegan meal deal when purchased along with the Chocolate Orange Rocky Road (£1.10) and a drink.
For those looking for a hearty main to replace meat in their Christmas dinner this year with something that celebrates the beauty of vegetables, Co-op is offering a Root Veg En Croute (£4).
These plant-based parcels feature root veg encased in a rich vegan puff pastry with orange zest and cranberry sauce.
Vegan Pigs in Blankets
No Christmas party is complete without nibbles, and Co-op has three tasty finger-foods on offer this year in the form of its No Duck Spring Rolls (£2.25) filled with jackfruit and oyster mushrooms, Vegan Pigs in Blankets (£3) and Cauliflower Popcorn with Sweet Chilli Sauce (£2.25).
No Duck Spring Rolls
The meat-free spring rolls are a new addition to the retailer’s Gro vegan range for 2020 and contain a mixture of seasoned vegetables, jackfruit and oyster mushrooms wrapped in crisp filo pastry. A pack of ten is priced at £2.25.
