Morrisons launches vegan gingerbread doughnuts

Supermarket Morrisons has released a new festive flavour of doughnut: gingerbread! Even better, they're vegan!


Our festive prayers have finally been answered. We now have vegan gingerbread doughnuts!

Morrisons is well-known for its accidentally vegan doughnuts, and now the supermarket is giving vegan customers more delicious dessert options as it brings back its limited-edition vegan gingerbread doughnuts.

The tempting vegan gingerbread doughnuts have a fluffy moist outer and are finished with a dusting of sugar. Inside, they are filled with a rich and comforting ginger cream custard – made from an intense blend of spices, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.

The festive treat is available in stores now in packs of five costing just 50p and will be prepared fresh daily by Morrisons’ bakers.


‘Going down a storm’

Andy Clarke, Bakery Buyer at Morrisons said: “We’d seen gingerbread lattes going down a storm – and had an idea to mash up our famous gingerbread men with our filled doughnuts.

“Customers tell us our filled doughnuts are the best ‘accidentally vegan’ doughnuts they’ve found – so we’ve made sure that this recipe was no exception.”

Vegan Christmas at Morrisons

Morrisons isn’t letting vegans miss out this year, with a huge selection of plant-based festive products on the shelves.

Swap out the turkey for their Beefless Wellington and start the party with some Tempura No-Prawns and No-Duck Spring rolls. For dessert, treat yourself to the UK’s first-ever Vegan Trifle. With fruity strawberry sauce and boudoir biscuits layered with vanilla custard and whipped vegan cream, you won’t be disappointed!
