M&S launches vegan panda bao buns that are almost too cute to eat

Shoppers are calling M&S' latest vegan product 'too cute to eat' as the retailer launches adorable new vegan panda bao buns.

Vegans don’t eat anything with a face, but we will definitely be making an exception for the brand-new panda bao buns from M&S!

The soft and fluffy steamed buns are filled with umami-rich sticky hoisin mushrooms are perfect for dipping in M&S’ soy and sesame dipping sauce.

Ideal for a quick and flavoursome lunch or snack, simply heat the super-cute buns in the microwave for just over a minute and enjoy.

Shoppers will find the new vegan panda bao buns in M&S stores from 22 September.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, the company write: “M&S Food is BUNSTOPPABLE this week as we launch yet another MUST-HAVE for mealtimes!

“Our brand-new VEGAN steamed Panda Buns are fluffy and light, stuffed with sweet and sticky hoisin mushrooms. The ultimate work lunch or speedy dinner, simply pop in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. Perfect pairing: your fave panda YouTube videos.”

News of M&S’s latest vegan product launch was met with joy when shared by the Snack News & Reviews page on Facebook.

Delighted commenters shared their delight at the news, with one happy customer saying: “They sound delicious. With food choices like that, I could easily go vegan.”

Amongst the myriad of comments, several questioned why vegans would want to eat food shaped like an animal.

One commenter playfully said: “Nothing says vegan like eating a panda’s head.”

However, another added: “The fun is you can eat it without actually harming a real animal. They look super cute!!”

Plant Kitchen

Since the launch of its vegan Plant Kitchen range in 2019, M&S has released a steady stream of innovative vegan products.

The retailer was the first supermarket to release its own classic pink and white vegan marshmallows and recently launched its first vegan dine-in meal deal.

Moreover, M&S has also pledged to ensure that all its wines are 100% vegan by 2022.
