UK pie and quiche brand Higgidy has just announced that it will be releasing four new vegan options in time for Veganuary 2023. These include vegan muffins, pies, rolls and quiches.
The plant-based picks are made using vegetables and strengthen the fact that 75% of the brand’s range is now vegetarian or vegan.
Higgidy’s new vegan choices
The first of the four new vegan options is Spinach and Red Pepper Vegan Muffins. These muffins are bite-sized, created using pine nuts, basil, oat milk and butternut squash. They’re available from Tesco and Ocado, priced at £3.50, and will launch in Waitrose on 28th December.
Higgidy is already well-known for its savoury rolls. So it is adding to its range with the Bang Bang Cauliflower Dinky Vegan Rolls made from cauliflower, sweet potato, chipotle and red pepper, which is all wrapped into a vegan puff pastry and topped with paprika and linseed sprinkles. The rolls are priced at £3.50 and are available from Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Tesco.
There is also a new vegan pie on offer. The Roasted Chickpea Masala Pie is an open-topped pie, featuring seeded shortcrust pastry filled with a creamy coconut, lentil and spinach daal, layered with a chickpea and tomato masala. This is then topped with a sweet mango chutney and roasted chickpea crumb. It’s available for £4.50 from Waitrose, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Booths.
Finally, the last new addition from Higgidy is its Petit Pois & Courgette Vegan Little Quiche.
The creamy filling of Petit Pois, courgette, mint, coriander and chilli is sealed in a vegan shortcrust pastry case and topped with a pea puree and pumpkin seed crumb. You can get your hands on one for £3.10 from Waitrose and Tesco.
