Discover the new vegan cookbook with a difference from El Piano

El Piano, the multi-award winning restaurant in York, tips into its 21st year in March 2018 and to celebrate the years of wholly vegan food, entirely free from gluten, nuts, palm oil and refined sugar, it has produced a gorgeous new cookbook, 21 Years FREE.

In keeping with the ethos of the company, the book is a joint effort between today’s principal cooks, Robert Jackson and Alice Whiteley, with founder Magdalena Chávez, plus plenty of  input from others.

But this is no ordinary cookbook. Through 224 full-colour pages of recipes and facts, the personality of the crew shines through… Anecdotes tell the story of a small enterprise: how they once, in error, locked customers in the building at the end of the night, the recipes that have grown from mistakes and the joys of good suppliers. Recipes merge with practical tips for anyone wishing to start and maintain their own eatery, as well as being great inspiration for home cooks.
