HOU would’ve thought, sweet houmous? Three new sweet flavours of the popular dip are available now, and they contain half the saturated fat of spreads like chocolate spread and jam.

HOU’s sweet houmous comes in Choc-o-chic, Banoffee Pie and Mixed Berry flavours. Designed for the health-conscious houmous lover with a sweet tooth, they are vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free too.

Co-founder Harry Tyndall came up with dessert-flavoured houmous after being diagnosed with gout at the age of 29. He said: “After cutting out red meat and rich dairy, houmous became a staple in my diet, but I still couldn’t get rid of my sweet cravings. I came up with the idea of a sweet houmous but it needed to be dairy-free and still irresistibly tasty. I asked Jake, who was a trained chef, to come on board to help make this idea a reality.”

Jake Finn shares Harry’s vision to create a healthier alternative to the UK’s favourite spreads. He said: “We are thrilled to be launching the UK’s first sweet houmous as it’s such an exciting product. Houmous has become a fridge staple and is so popular, so we’re hoping HOU joins it as a sweet and healthier alternative.”

You can add the dip to yoghurt and granola for a new twist on breakfast, spread it over a bagel when you need a quick snack or dip fruit into it for a delicious dessert.
