Yo! Yo! Yo! Fresh Japanese food restaurant Yo! is celebrating the festive season with the launch of a brand new dish with vegan nuggets.

Inspired by the Japanese tradition of enjoying fried chicken at Christmas, YO! is bringing the trend to the UK with its brand-new fried chicken Christmas box, which it has also created a vegan version of.

The Festive Feast features chicken karaage – crispy Japanese fried chicken- fries and creamy slaw, whilst the vegan version of limited-edition box, the Vegan JFC Festive Feast (£8.50) includes vegan nuggets, YO! fries, a sweet and spicy chilli JFC dipping sauce, miso-coated sweetcorn and vegan mayo slaw.

According to the company, the new dish is inspired by Christmas in Japan as the holidays have “become synonymous with a bucket of fried chicken” and the dish is “enjoyed by millions of Japanese families from November through to Christmas Day.”

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Mike Lewis, Executive Chef at YO!, said: “We’re excited to bring a Japanese festive favourite to our menus this Christmas and we’re continuously looking for new ways to grow and expand our menu beyond sushi. We believe this unique addition, will be a huge hit with our guests.”
