British pub company Wetherspoons, which operates roughly 1,000 outlets across the United Kingdom, has announced the launch of a full English breakfast that’s suitable for vegans.

Wetherspoons vegan full English breakfast

The full English breakfast is comprised of two hash browns, mushroom, tomato, and a slice of toast, as well as two plant-based sausages from vegan and vegetarian meat brand Quorn.

Whilst baked beans are traditionally a staple part of any full English breakfast, these sadly won’t be making an appearance in the dish as Wetherspoons use Heniz No Added Sugar beans in their kitchen which are not suitable for vegans due to an unnamed animal-derived ingredient in the flavouring.

Announcing the release of the new dish on Twitter, Quorn said: “We’re super excited to announce that you can now find our Quorn Vegan Best of British Sausages on the NEW JD Wetherspoon breakfast menu. Our delicious sausages are served with hash browns, mushroom, tomato and toast. And the best bit, its served until 12 noon every day!”

The budget pub chain’s menu previously offered customers the option of a variety of vegan-friendly dishes, including plant-based teriyaki noodles, nachos, five bean chilli, and a sweet potato, chickpea and spinach curry.

New vegan dishes that have recently been added to the menu include a houmous and roasted vegetable wrap, jacket potato with roasted vegetables, and a smashed avocado English muffin.
