For the first time in its 233 year history, Wall’s Pastry, who is one of the UK’s leading sausage roll manufacturers, has just launched its first range of vegan sausage rolls and pasties.

Inspired by the popularity of products such as Gregg’s sausage roll, the company has added four brand new plant-based pasties to its range: Vegan Jumbo Roll (£1.25), BBQ Jackfruit Jumbo Roll (£1.25), Vegan Snack Rolls (£1.50) and BBQ Jackfruit Rolls (£1.50).

In order to create a meaty texture that mimics the texture of a sausage roll, Wall’s has used a blend of minced mushrooms, oats and seasonings wrapped in vegan-friendly puff pastry to create the Jumbo Rolls and Snack Rolls.

The jackfruit based rolls are filled with pulled jackfruit marinated in hickory-smoked BBQ sauce for an authentic and tempting BBQ flavour.

Keen to take advantage of the rise in consumers making changes to their diets to include more plant-based products, Wall’s told The Grocer it hopes that the new range will “open the brand up to the 91% of consumers who now follow flexitarian diets and the 3.5 million Brits who follow a strictly vegan diet.”

The new range is available to purchase in major supermarkets now.
