This year vegans are spoilt for choice when it comes to festive vegan ranges at supermarkets with the likes of Iceland, Tesco, Asda and Aldi releasing impressive ranges full of vegan products.
Waitrose supermarket has enjoyed a successful season following the launch of its vegan Christmas range, with sales of its festive vegan range up 40%.
According to The Grocer, the supermarket has seen sales of its canapés, desserts and mains soar over the festive period, with dishes such as the nut roast helping drive growth as bestsellers in the range.
Customers are also scooping up the vegan mushroom and chestnut pâté, which has proved to be the most popular starter.
The delicious vegan festive wreath which features apple & cranberry and mushroom & leek bangers with a fruity stuffing and crunchy parsley crumb in the centre has also been highlighted as a bestseller by the retailer.
Charlotte McCarthy, vegan and vegetarian buyer at Waitrose & Partners, told The Grocer: “Our vegan range has been growing in popularity for a number of years.
“However, we anticipate this Christmas will be the biggest ever for vegan food. We’ve worked really hard to ensure that there is an exciting range available for our customers and that we offer an entirely vegan Christmas dinner – trimmings and all.”
