The UK’s first ever vegan haggis burger, The Bonnie Burger, is launching for a limited time only at Wahlburgers, Covent Garden!
To celebrate the upcoming Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, which spans August 31st – September 15th, international burger chain Wahlburgers have created a plant-based ode to Scottish cuisine, sandwiched between a classic burger bun.
The UK’s first vegan haggis burger, the Bonnie Burger, sees Wahlburgers partner with the vegan burger manufacturers Moving Mountains, adding a delicious, limited-edition vegan burger onto the current menu at Wahlburgers in Covent Garden.
Already available in 400 pubs across the UK, Moving Mountains patties are famous for their “bleeding” beetroot core, as well as the insanely realistic, meaty and juicy flavours the burger produces when cooked. The patties contain 18g of plant protein, and are made using oyster mushrooms and pea protein, amongst other natural ingredients.
In addition to the Moving Mountains patty, the Bonnie Burger features vegan haggis created by haggis expert Simon Howie, using ingredients such as carrot, swede, leek, mushroom and oatmeal to ensure that the flavour is as close to traditional haggis as possible. The burger will also contain caramelised onions, vegan smoked Cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, house-made Johnnie Walker whisky sauce, lettuce and red onion.
The Bonnie Burger will be available at the Covent Garden branch of Wahlburgers, from August 31st, priced at £12.50.
