Veganuary, a UK-based charity dedicated to inspiring people to “try vegan” for the month of January and throughout the year, is running a crowdfunding campaign to help with its mission to bring veganism to all four corners of the globe.

Veganuary have set themselves a target to hit £15,000 by the time the campaign ends on 22 August, with the money going towards the costs of such a project, including websites for each new country, translators, graphic designers, legal support and campaign co-ordination.

Since launching in 2014, Veganuary has helped over 250,000 people try their hand at veganism each January, doubling the number of participants every year.

Although vegan options on the high street, in supermarkets and at restaurants are becoming more and more popular in the UK, adopting a plant-based diet, and having the information to do so with full conviction and knowledge can be much harder in other countries.

And this is where Veganuary steps in.

With demand coming from the organisation’s huge following requesting help for those who are overseas, this is a chance to adapt the Veganuary message and information to suit different countries, cultures, and of course, menus. From nutrition advice, to community support, to eating out guides and how to cook traditional dishes at home – it’s time for veganism to become more accessible among the non-English-speaking world – whilst upholding cultural sensitivities.

Veganuary wants special attention to be focused on countries such as Brazil, China and India, where the biggest difference can be made – to the planet, the people and of course the animals.

“You should expand to other countries too. Mexico [has a lot of] people interested in being vegan.” Veganuary 2018 participant, Mexico

“I’d like Veganuary to be more international. I live in Moscow, Russia and many of my friends can’t speak English” Veganuary 2018 participant, Russia

Not only can supporters rest assured that their donations are helping a cause with a heart, there are a range of exciting perks to be enjoyed, such as dinner vouchers, vegan BBQ bundles and delicious treats!
