A new 100% vegan Vietnamese restaurant has opened in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Sen Viet first launched in London serving authentic Vietnamese food. From April 2022, the restaurant’s menu went entirely vegan and has continued to grow in popularity.
The restaurant’s aim was to “provide healthy and delicious cuisines that have been carefully selected to bring out the tastes from our origins of Vietnam.”
Moreover, Sen Viet’s extensive menu includes over 30 plant-based dishes ranging from starters to desserts.
In addition to serving popular Vietnamese dishes such as Pho and Summer Rolls, the restaurant is famous for its award-winning Crispy Pancake (Bánh Xèo).
Other dishes include Tofu Coconut Curry (Cà Ri Đậu Hũ), Caramelised Tofu and Green Banana (Chuối Xanh Xào Đậu Hũ), and Tofu and Mushroom Sizzling (Nấm Đậu Hũ Thập Cẩm).
According to Google Reviews, one customer claimed the food at Sen Viet was “one of the best meals I’ve ever had in London”.
Furthermore, Sen Viet is now open at 23a Brougham Pl, Edinburgh.
Vegan Restaurants in Edinburgh
Edinburgh is home to many vegan restaurants. In fact, in 2017 the city was voted one of the ‘Most Vegan-Friendly Cities in the UK‘, and the third best city in the world for veganism in 2020.
In addition to zero-waste stores and vegan supermarkets, the city is a hub for plant-based dining.
From fine dining at Erpingham house and vegan afternoon tea to authentic plant-based pizzerias and bakeries, there is plenty of choice for everyone.
What’s more, a survey in 2021 by The Vegan Society found that 30% of Scots believed the government should promote plant-based diets to combat climate change, ranking higher than any other UK nation.
