Vegan health and fitness supplement company, Vivo Life, is on a mission to eliminate plastic waste by switching to 100% compostable packaging.
Glastonbury-based Vivo Life is well-known amongst vegan fitness fans for its affordable plant-based supplements, but now it is on a mission to eliminate plastic waste by switching to 100% compostable packaging.
The company has the environment at the heart of everything it does and operates from a renewable energy powered warehouse as well as planting one tree for every order they receive on their website.
Vivo Life believes that this move to compostable packaging is the logical next step forward in its mission to ‘help safeguard the planet and all the living beings that call it home’.
The new packaging is 100% home compostable, which means it is made entirely from plants and will compost in your food waste or even your back garden.
Explaining the decision to swap to eco-friendly packaging solutions, Vivo Life Co-Founder, Josh Bolding said: “We’re a business that is serious about sustainability, so we’re hugely excited to be able to bring this 100% home compostable packaging to the health and fitness industry. Collectively, responsible plastic use is one of the biggest changes we can make for the future of our planet and we believe it is the responsibility of businesses like ours to stand up and take action.”
In order to raise funds to help Vivo Life to speed up its eco-friendly journey and ensure it could implement this positive change as quickly as possible, the company launched a Kickstarter campaign which has now successfully reached its goal.
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Bolding commented: “We’re thrilled to have hit our funding target, which means we can now bring our 100% home compostable packaging to life. This innovative packaging is made entirely from plants and can be composted in food waste bins, or the back garden, and is an important step for the health and fitness industry. We now hope it will encourage other businesses like ours to stand up and take action against plastic pollution.
“Now we’ve hit the target we’ll begin the first production run of our compostable alternative, and plant a tree for every pledge we received. We want to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported our Kickstarter campaign, this is one of the most exciting moments in our business, and we couldn’t have done it without you.”
