What’s on the menu at Lickle Sugarcane
Lickle Sugarcane provides an extensive ital and vegan menu, offering its guests authentic Caribbean food such as Ackee ‘n’ Blossom Fruit, Jerk grilled pumpkin, Callaloo patties and so much more.
Some of the highlights of the menu are the sweetcorn fritters, 4 bean coconut and thyme curry, and Sugarcanes Trinidadian mac ‘n’ cheese – creamy mac ‘n’ cheese served with sauteéd pumpkin bites, YUM!
As well as offering fresh juices and smoothies, the restaurant offers guests the chance to BYOB (bring your own bottle). Chef Tee’s recommendation is to add rum to the juices for a Caribbean hit. Don’t mind if we do!

Giving a Lickle bit more
Chef Tee’s admirable lust for life and creativity echoes throughout Lickle Sugarcane. The 27-year-old chef has previously worked in Michelin-starred kitchens, as well as dabbling as a teacher and in fashion marketing. Not to mention he’s achieved an impressive four degrees to boot!
His latest venture offers a relaxed environment that is both sustainable and ethical, from its organic, locally sourced produce and its exclusively bio-degradable packaging, to the team Tee works with.
Influenced by his upbringing growing up in care, Chef Tee is dedicated to hiring care leavers aged 16-25 to help him run his restaurants. At Lickle Sugarcane, he offers his staff a chance to develop their careers with catering qualifications as well as one-to-one training.
Speaking with the Wadsworth Times, Tee shared: “After spending time in care homes in my teens, I managed to secure my first job when I was 17 at a small café in Balham.
“That job was the lynchpin in me having a career. It enabled me to learn how to cook and move on to restaurants, it all happened because of that one opportunity.”
The restaurant owner went on to express how he wants to give his staff that opportunity to further their careers, gain qualifications and valuable experience.
Additionally, Tee works closely with local soup kitchens and homeless charities to support those in the community, providing meals, food boxes, and household products to those that are in need.
