An 100% vegan restaurant has opened at the Ritzy in Brixton, making the cinema the first in the UK to host an animal-free eatery.
En Root at The Ritzy serves ‘healthy, hearty, home-cooked Indian meals’, which its founders say are ‘designed to energise, uplift and nourish’ diners.
The restaurant marks the third of the owners’ sites, joining existing siblings in Clapham and Peckham.
Diners will be able to enjoy classic En Root dishes including the ‘Don Dada Platter’, a tasting platter featuring a range of the eatery’s culinary creations served in a traditional ‘thali’ style.
Other plant-based meal options include its exclusive cinema-style small bites including its ‘Poppanachos’, a poppadom base snack topped with Dhal, Pickled Cabbage, Avocado, Raita and Spice Krispies.
Meanwhile the sweets menu boasts a range of desserts including ‘Mango Lassi Cheesecake’ or the decadent gluten-free ‘Beetroot Blueberry Cacao Brownie’.
And for the rest of November, diners can enjoy the ‘Lunchtime Special’ – a £5 meal (£6 with avocado) consisting of Coconut Curry, Golden Rice, Daily Dhal and Rainbow Salad.
