Renowned eatery Vegan Junk Food Bar (VJFB) has announced the opening of its biggest store to date due to ‘high demand and franchise requests’.

The chain first joined the increasing number of vegan restaurants in Amsterdam when it launched back in 2017. Thanks to its deliberately Instagram-able interiors, it quickly went viral and led to more branches opening up in Amsterdam.

This was followed by multiple restaurants across The Netherlands and it made its Spanish debut in 2020.

Now VJFB has opened its doors in Cologne, Germany, at an exciting new venue that seats a staggering 222 guests.

It says the restaurant’s interior ‘represents a futuristic, fresh, street art vibe with a revolutionary atmosphere’.

The menu features vegan junk food classics such as ‘dirty’ vegan burgers as well as new dish Loaded Fries with Bratwurst.

But VJFB is about more than just the food as guests can also get immersed in Cologne’s first-ever 2D optical illusion space inside the restaurant ‘taking guests from reality to the world of art and fantasy’.

‘A magical experience’

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, the chain said: “VJFB Cologne ensures that guests get the best version of their plant-based bites and drinks with a magical experience on every visit.

“Every day of the week, guests can enjoy VJFB takes to suit their needs, whether it’s a business lunch, family dinner or takeaway. In the evenings, VJFB Cologne turns into a disco atmosphere, with an option to dance while enjoying your favourite VJFBites and cocktails…

“Be sure to drop by for some ‘eye candy’ in the gorgeous Gender Neutral Instaproof toilet area”.

VFJB says it recognises that now more than ever, safety, hygiene and customers’ trust and confidence in hospitality is critical.

Therefore, it says it has ‘established even greater discipline in how to meet those needs to provide cleanliness, health and safety to mitigate the spread of COVID-19’
