North American vegan meat alternative producer Lightlife is gearing up for summer with the launch of a range of new vegan meat products that are perfect for BBQs.
Lightlife’s range of mock meats will be rolled out to stores across Canada and this US this month and includes a range of innovative products including Lightlife Ground, Lightlife Bratwurst Sausage, Lightlife Italian Sausage and the Lightlife Burger.
Lightlife’s ground beef mince alternative promises the same flavour and “juicy texture” as animal-derived ground beef and is equally versatile.
The mince is perfect for use in dishes such as burritos, chilli, vegan lasagne and tacos. It’s also free from GMOs, soy, gluten and artificial flavours making it a great choice for everyone.
The range will be available to purchase in Acme, Albertsons, Haggen, Jewel, Pavilions, Safeway, Vons, and Wegmans as well as other outlets in the US.
Canadian consumers can find the products in over 3,400 stores including Federated Coop, Loblaws, Longo’s, Metro, Save-On-Foods, and Sobeys.
Speaking about the launch, President of Greenleaf Foods, the parent company of Lightlife, Dan Curtin, said: “This launch is very exciting time for the business and the brand.
“We’ve said it before: we didn’t join the plant-based category overnight—we’ve long been pioneering the industry. With this in mind, it’s wonderful to be able to see years of expertise, innovation and passion come to fruition when this groundbreaking product hits shelves this month.”
The makers behind the vegan burger taking the world by storm, the Beyond Burger from Beyond Meat, has also announced it will be launching a vegan alternative to ground beef.
Beyond Beef has 25% less saturated fat than beef, with less than 6g per serving, and is made with a blend of pea, mung bean, and rice proteins that provide a meaty texture that aims to replicate the texture of ground beef.
Lightlife will be rolling its new range out to stores across the US and Canada this month.
