Brighton is getting its first ever vegan fried chicken shop.
Run by a team of ambitious, planet-obsessed individuals, the new fried chicken eatery called Really Happy Chicken has a menu inspired by KFC and American southern fried chicken.
Really Happy Chicken are dedicated to serving soul food which is also vegan. The ‘chicken’ is made from seitan, a wheat protein that looks, tastes and feels like the real thing.
The seitan fillet also contains more protein content than real chicken and is available in the form of a burger or as wings.
Brighton has welcomed numerous vegan restaurants, including The Vurger Co which opened its restaurant in the last fortnight, and Oowee Vegan which opened its Deliveroo Editions takeaway kitchen last week.
Really Happy Vegan will be found on Preston Street which is very close to the iconic i360 viewing tower and is due to open on Tuesday August 4th. The venue will also be available for takeaway on Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
