Vegan fried chicken brand VFC has secured a partnership with major pub chain Marston’s.

VFC’s meat-free chick*n tenders, made from wheat protein, are now available at 600 Marstons Pubs across the UK.

Drizzled with vegan mayo and finished with rocket, the Vegan Crispy Strips can be bought as a starter for £5.25.

The vegan chicken tenders join a slew of vegan dishes available at Marston’s Pubs, including BBQ Cauliflower Wings, Mexican Nachos, and Apple Crumble.

‘Big news’

“Big news, rebels: you can get our crispy Chick*n Tenders in 600 Marston’s Pubs across the country,” the brand wrote on Facebook.

“We can just picture it now… You’re nursing a bitter shandy whilst snacking on some tasty Vegan Fried Chick*n Tenders and discussing the recent cold snap. Dreamy.”

Last year, VFC revamped its vegan chicken recipe to make it ‘even more meat-like’.

The meat alternative’s latest version is said to more accurately represent the flavour and texture of real chicken.

“The result is a plant-based experience that’s even more meat-like, delicious, convenient and incredibly versatile without costing a wing and a leg,” said Founder Adam Lyons.

“Championing taste in this category is key to converting more people across all age groups into more sustainable meat-free alternatives so that animals no longer have to be part of the food system.”
