Portland has it’s first ever all-vegan doughnut shop, Doe Donuts.

Vegan doughnut shop opens in Portland

Doe Donuts opened its doors Sunday morning to a line of eager donut-lovers outside. Within the next four hours, a staggering 1,000 vegan donuts were sold to the stores eager customers.

Carly Sitner, Co-Owner and Chef of Doe Donuts has over 13 years of professional baking under her belt, working in restaurants, hotels, cafes, large scale production and the natural foods grocery industry across the US from NYC to Portland, Oregon. As a vegan for over 17 years, she has strived to create desserts that will accommodate her ethics and her taste buds, and after boosting sales whilst working at a popular national grocery chain with her fresh, vegan doughnuts she decided to team up with friend Crystal Wegener to make her dream of owning her own vegan doughnut bakery a reality.

What’s on the menu?

The shop will offer a set menu of flavours with daily specials and seasonal offers that will change bi-monthly, and uses organic, Fair Trade and non-GMO ingredients when possible.

Doe’s signature creation (a nod to the founders’ obsession with chocolate) is The Golden Child—a chocolate raised doughnut glazed in smooth ganache and topped with fresh chocolate shavings, chocolate chips, homemade brownies and edible gold pearls. Another option will be the Doe!, a raised doughnut dipped in homemade strawberry milk and topped with sprinkles.

There’s also the ‘All or Nothing, which is filled with a cookie butter filling, and topped with chocolate ganache and raw chocolate chip cookie dough.

Where can I find it?

Doe Donuts is located 8201 SE Powell Blvd.
