Harry Potter fans rejoice! Vegan butter beer is now available at Universal Studios in Orlando and Los Angeles

Universal Studios has finally debuted vegan butter beer on menus in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The theme park has sold the fan-favourite drink for thirteen years but uses cow’s milk for its iconic whipped topping and in the soda base if ordered hot.

However, Harry Potter fans can now enjoy a plant-based version of the butterscotch beverage with ‘the same delicious taste’ as its dairy counterpart, following a campaign by The Protego Foundation.

Vegan butter beer – where to find

According to reports, the new vegan butter beer is only currently available in two of the theme parks worldwide: Orlando and Los Angeles.

In Orlando, vegan butterbeer can be found at the Three Broomsticks restaurant in Hogsmeade and the Leaky Cauldron restaurant in Diagon Alley.

In LA vegan butterbeer is now available at the Hog’s Head pub and the Three Broomsticks restaurant.

Vegan at Universal Orlando

Earlier this year, Universal Orlando expanded its vegan food offerings with the launch of meat-free pepperoni.

After partnering with plant-based brand Worthington, the theme park launched two new menu items: Vegan Pizza Tots and Vegan Pizza Fries.

“We love to see theme parks add even more vegan options,” animal-rights charity PETA said.

“It makes it even easier for guests who want to help spare fish, pigs, cows, and all other animals who are used for food.”
