The UK’s first vegan poke bar has opened today as a street food truck in Bournemouth. Starting off small, the new foodie spot is located in the car park of successful vegan junk food restaurant Plant Hustlers.
Hoke Poke is on a mission to prove that plant-based food is anything but bland, with a vibrant selection of vegan seafood alternatives. Their health-focused poke bowls will feature plant-based salmon, prawn, tuna and chicken, opening consumers up to a new world of vegan alternatives.
On the menu are exciting Ahi Bowls including Katsu Chicken and Korean BBQ Chicken. Fancy a bit on the side? You can also order delicious sides such as Crispy Prawns, Oriental Chicken Goujons and Seaweed Salad.
‘Repopulating our oceans’
“With the plant-based market focusing quite heavily on meat alternatives I wanted to create something new and unique. With the rise of new Poke restaurants/business especially in London, I wanted to bring something new to the table and launch a fully plant-based version using only the best plant-based alternatives.
“It is also very important to me to raise awareness about the harm mass fishing is causing to the sea and the environment, and how choosing plant-based seafood alternatives is a small step we can take in repopulating our oceans.”
