London's first vegan diner, Rudy's, is about to make history once again as it gets set to open the UK's first completely vegan butchers in North London.

Rudy’s Vegan Butcher is set to open its doors on World Vegan Day, November 1, on Islington’s Upper Street and has been designed to resemble traditional butchers with a major difference – all of the products on offer are 100% plant-based and cruelty-free.
Visitors to the store will be greeted with an array of innovative meat alternatives from homemade pastrami and dirty burger patties to a rack of jack, lobstah salad, meatballs, chick’n lover pate and shredded BBQ pulled porc.
You can even grab a vegan Christmas roast turk’y along with smoked ham, salami de provence, pepperoni, all of which are made from soya and seitan to give them a realistic meaty texture and taste.

To celebrate opening the UK’s first vegan butchers, Rudy’s is giving away 100 pounds of free baycon to the first 200 customers through the doors. Having tried their fantastic bacon for ourselves we can say it’s well worth making the trip down to try it!
There’s good news for those living outside London too because customers across the UK will be able to order the whole range of Vegan Butcher meats online to enjoy at home from November 1st. And what’s more – all online orders made on World Vegan Day include a free pack of baycon.
Vegan butchers
Although Rudy’s will be the first permanent and completely vegan butchers in the UK, in 2018, Sainsbury’s launched an innovative plant-based pop-up to help get the public involved in World Meat Free Week.
The supermarket opened a meat-free butcher to showcase the wide variety of vegan meat alternatives available to the public in a bid to encourage passers-by to try swapping meat for plant-based alternatives.
The pop-up featured over 20 meat-free products from BBQ Pulled Jackfruit and Chorizo-Style Shroomdogs to meatless mince from the Meatless Farm, vegan steaks and bacon.
