2020 has been a year with very little to celebrate, with many industries and companies suffering through the pandemic it can be difficult to see the positive things. However, 2020 has been a successful year for veganism!
The global pandemic has helped fuel the spread of veganism, drawing peoples attention to what they can do to help themselves and the planet.
With veganism on the rise as it becomes an easier, more affordable diet to maintain, it is no shock that a study conducted by Chef’s Pencil has revealed that veganism is now twice as popular as it was just five years ago on a global level.
Their annual study on the most popular countries and cities around the world for veganism uses Google Trends to analyse the search interest level for veganism across the world.
The search of the veganism categories, language including terms such as veganism, vegan restaurants and vegan recipes, revealed these terms were at an all-time high in 2020.
The study revealed the UK ranks 1st in countries across the globe for the third consecutive year and the list of popular cities to be vegan includes four UK cities in the top 10.
