Stonegate Pub Company is introducing a new menu with some delicious new vegan offerings across its student inspired pubs.

The Stonegate pubs are already famed for their great coffees, craft ales, street food and sport, but it looks like they’ll soon be known for something else too: great vegetarian and vegan food.

Highlights on Stonegate’s new menu are the Macaroni Grilled Cheese Sandwich, the Falafel Salad, the Chilli and Salad and the Avocado Fries. With these new on-trend dishes, the pub chain’s focus is shifting from quantity to quality. The menu, though slightly reduced in size, now offers a far greater choice of vegan options.

One of the key ingredients making an appearance in the new dishes is jackfruit. It is a key component in the Jackfruit Bao Bun (a lotus-style steamed bun filled with pulled BBQ jackfruit, mango and lime zing slaw, with sesame, coriander and mixed leaves) and the Vegan Burger (a spicy bean burger topped with mixed leaves, vegan mayo, a slice of vegan cheese and BBQ jackfruit in a toasted bagel).

Marketing Manager Jessica Dixon said: “Demand for vegan dishes has significantly increased in recent months, so we have added vegan versions of the most popular dishes on the menu. These are listed as vegan options throughout the menu, but also in a dedicated vegan section, so are very visible.”
