Husband and wife team Jennifer and Robert Dunn opened The Den at 23 in Colchester in March 2015, and now they’re taking their business on the road in their brand new food van, ‘Old Rusty’ to bring their tasty vegan grub to the masses…

The duo behind TFI Vegan have always loved the idea of a having their own food van where they could serve up tasty vegan grub to the masses. Following the positive response to their food from customers at their vegan cafe, The Den at 23, they wanted to reach more people by taking their burgers on the road!

The team behind TFI Vegan have found that familiar food such as burgers can really win people over who are a bit sceptical of vegan food, and they’re often surprised to find it isn’t all just about salads and beans! Now with their new van, they’re on a mission to visit towns where vegan options are a bit lacking, as well as vegan (and non-vegan!) food festivals to show as many people as possible just how good vegan food is.

What’s on the menu?

Rob loves creating big saucy burger combinations, and Jen enjoys showcasing vegan cupcakes and cheese cakes, so you’re sure to find something naughty-but-nice to tickle your tastebuds.

TFI Vegan have incorporated some of their best seller burgers from The Den, such as their quarter pound cheese burger, (featuring mature Violife cheddar and grilled red onion), and their chickenless burger with garlic mayo.

They’ve also got some new additions up their sleeves-one of their favourites being their mouth-watering BBQ pork style burger, served with homemade apple slaw!

For those who prefer to steer clear of meat alternatives and enjoy a bit of heat, they also have a mushroom and spinach burger, served with spicy sriracha mayo, in a toasted bun.

They’re also starting to book in for winter festivals around the South East, and will be posting all their updates on their Facebook page, so be sure to head along and give them a follow so you don’t miss any updates: www.facebook.com/tfivegan.
