A simple bowl of pasta and pesto sauce is one of life’s great pleasures, but many people are unaware that pesto often contains parmesan making it unsuitable for vegans.

Here to give vegans plenty of choice at mealtimes, Tesco has launched a new line of vibrantly coloured vegan-friendly pesto sauces in its Wicked Kitchen range created with pioneering plant-based chef Derek Sarno from Wicked Healthy.

Typically made crushed garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, and basil leaves, the Wicked Kitchen range is pushing the boundaries with three innovative new pesto flavours that are guaranteed to brighten up mealtimes.

Available to purchase now at Tesco stores and online, the new line consists of three fancy flavours priced at £2 for a 190g pot.

Fancy tucking into a bright pink pasta pesto dish? Why not try the new Pink Beetroot Pesto made from a blend of beetroot, cashews and roasted garlic with a hint of smoke.

There’s also an Orange Pumpkin Pesto featuring pumpkin, peppers and cashew nuts with lemon peel and curry powder.

Go over to the dark side with the Black Olive Pesto, a richly-coloured pesto made with black olives, basil, capers and cashew nuts with activated charcoal.
