This year, vegans can purchase a vegan Christmas dinner for two from Tesco for £35, complete with crackers and a bottle of champagne.
Tesco has made Christmas easy this year with a ‘Vegan Christmas Dinner for Two’ available from their Festive Food to Order.
With lockdown now in place across the country due to Covid-19 cases rising, many households will be alone this Christmas. Therefore, the new Tesco vegan Christmas dinner will enable two-person households to still enjoy a fabulous vegan Christmas despite restrictions.
Priced at £35, the dinner contains everything you need to enjoy a festive feast with all the trimmings.
Included is the star of the show – a flaky and golden Wicked Wellington!, made from pea protein and mushroom duxelles to replicate a traditional beef wellington without the meat.
This vegan centrepiece is served alongside a host of trimmings such as herby stuffing balls, rich onion gravy, sweet cranberry and port sauce and Meat Free Cocktail Bangers.
You don’t even have to make your own veggies as they all come included with crispy roasties, thyme-roasted carrots, cranberry sauce and of course, Brussels sprouts.
For dessert, enjoy a boozy Christmas pudding with juicy sultanas, cider and rum and a vegan brandy sauce.
The dinner even comes complete with a bottle of champagne and Christmas crackers – what’s not to love?
After the release of the already exciting and extensive vegan range from Tesco this Christmas, this news comes as a dream come true for those who don’t have time to prepare and cook a roast dinner from scratch.
‘Increased demand for vegan options’
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Dave Nicholls, Buying Manager for Tesco Festive Food To Order said: “This year, we’re making it even easier for all customers to enjoy Christmas with delicious, ready-prepared festive meals that are packed full of flavour and can be delivered to their door.
“We’ve seen an increased demand for vegan options across the business and Christmas is no different, with the new Finest Vegan Christmas Dinner Box joining our other dinner box for two option, so that there’s something for everyone”.
How to order
While the dinner is not available to order just yet, there’s not long to wait as orders can be made online from 7am on Friday 20 November with Delivery Saver customers able to order from the 13th November
Shoppers can simply order through Festive Food To Order, and Tesco will deliver its range of Finest Christmas Dinner Boxes to customers’ doors in time for Christmas.
