If you ask us, it’s never too early to get in the Christmas spirit! And Tesco certainly seems to agree as it has just announced a new range of festive vegan products following the success of its Christmas 2018 range.

The UK’s largest supermarket chain will be offering a selection of hors d’oeuvre that will be a hit with your guests such as festive “turkey” wraps from Wicked Kitchen which are filled with pea protein and stuffing and Sticky Chilli Cauliflower (£1) bites with a deliciously seasoned plant-based tempura batter accompanied with a finger-licking spicy sauce which are perfect for nibbling at Christmas parties.

There are also some less traditional offerings such as Thai Inspired Butternut, Coconut & Lemongrass Rolls, a Thai-inspired combination of vibrant lemongrass, lime and chilli with creamy coconut and butternut squash, hand-wrapped in a crisp spring roll pastry and topped with coconut, parsley and smoky paprika.

Tesco is also launching a vegan pâté that is the perfect accompaniment to your dairy-free cheeseboard. The Celeriac and Smoked Chestnut with an Apple & Pear Chutney (£4) is a smooth blend of celeriac, oak-smoked chestnuts, butter beans and double cream topped with a spiced Bramley apple and pear chutney.

There’s no need to stress about spending hours cooking this year as Tesco has got the whole meal covered with starters, mains and even desserts!

For olive lovers, Tesco’s Olive & Antipasti Platter (£5) is a sure-fire winner. A trio of pimento-stuffed green olives in parsley dressing, pitted green olives in a lemon and garlic marinade and pitted green and black olives in a basil and garlic dressing. All complemented by a sundried tomato and red pepper dip, BBQ giant corn and tomato and chilli breadsticks.

Putting a vegan twist on a classic British favourite, the supermarket will be launching vegan ‘pigs in blankets’ which will consist of meat-free sausages wrapped in vegan pastry.

A selection of vegetable-based dishes hitting the shelves will be perfect for the main event like the impressive Butternut Squash, Mushroom, and Chestnut Wreath (£4.50) with a crisp filo pastry hand-filled with sweet butternut squash, mushrooms and chestnuts and flavoured with Madeira, white wine, brandy and winter spice.

“We’ve been working hard to make those festive moments simpler and tastier than ever,” said Tesco’s executive chef Martyn Lee in a statement sent to LiveKindly. “From providing a wider choice of vegan and Free From products to twists on those must-have Christmas classics.”

The supermarket chain recently revealed that it would be introducing a brand new plant-based ready meal brand, Plant Chef, in the near future as well as expanding its vegan-friendly product range to include approximately 300 vegan products from the 32 it currently sells under its Wicked Kitchen brand, an increase of 837%.

Tesco’s festive range will be available to purchase in stores and online from 16th December.
