Swansea Vegfest will celebrate World Vegan Month by hosting its second ‘market takeover’ in the heart of Swansea Indoor Market.
The event will take place on Saturday 4th November, between 11am and 4pm. The Vegfest team will be taking over the area in the middle of the market, creating a mini vegan paradise for foodies. Swansea Indoor Market is located on Oxford Street in the centre of town, at SA1 3PQ.
The event aims to offer shoppers vegan versions of their market must-haves and will feature a dozen local, independent vendors. There will be hot lunches for sale, as well as items to take home and enjoy later. Visitors will be able to buy everything from deli goodies to cakes and savoury treats. The market’s very own vegan store, Brontosaurus, will be bringing its tuck box for those with a sweet tooth, as part of its programme of World Vegan Month events. In addition to shopping opportunities, the takeover will be featuring cooking demos for those seeking tips and inspiration to experiment with vegan food.
Swansea Vegfest will be running their own stall with free samples for attendees to try, and a wealth of free advice and resources for anyone interested in learning more about veganism. Organiser Karen McCloy says: ‘We’re so excited to be back in Swansea Market. We love being part of the wider community and meeting shoppers, and relish the chance to show people that vegan food is every bit as delicious as all food. Our traders offer quality products with something for everyone and we’d love to encourage all shoppers – veggie, vegan or not – to check out the event and see for themselves why we feel we’ve got so much to celebrate this World Vegan Month!’
