Back in June, Ilcheseter® announced their ground-breaking Vegan Festive Selection featuring their popular smoky Applewood and Spicy Mexicana vegan cheeses alongside new Vegan Melting Mature and Vegan Blue cheeses. Three supermarket giants have now decided the stock the product, making it widely available to vegans and non-vegans alike.
This news comes after Applewood revealed that their vegan cheese accounted for a whopping 20% of their sales – a much higher figure than the reported number of vegans in the UK at 1%.
Moreover, Ian Theasby and Henry Firth who make up social media sensation Bosh recently posted a vegan cheese taste test, voting Applewood Vegan and Mexicana Vegan in second and third place respectively.

Lisa Harrison, Senior Brand Manager for the Ilchester® Vegan Festive Selection, said: “We are excited about the launch of Ilchester®’s first-ever Vegan Festive Selection, featuring three new variants and we are thrilled that three of the supermarket giants – Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Asda – are featuring the selection for the Christmas season 2020.
“The demand for our vegan varieties has been phenomenal and we are optimistic that Ilchester® Vegan Festive Selection will be equally as popular.”
