High-street coffee shop giant Starbucks has expanded its plant-based menu to include two tasty new vegan options.

A decadent new dessert, the Caramel Chococado Pot, has joined the menu to give customers a new sweet treat to tuck into.

The luxurious pudding is made from a blend of avocado mousse, chocolate and coconut yogurt layered with silky caramel sauce and topped with cacao nibs.

Giving those looking for a filling yet healthy meal on the go more choice, Starbucks has launched the Vegan Spiced Protein Bowl. This wholesome bowl features edamame, lentils, chickpeas, golden bulgur wheat, cumin and harissa spiced beets, and pickled red onions.

In a press conference in 2017, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson revealed that Starbucks was planning to increase its profits by developing more plant-based options thanks so high demand for these options for customers.

The coffee shop chain has added a number of new vegan options to its menu in recent years, such as the festive vegan winter sandwich and a tempting raspberry and chocolate cake.

The chain also hit headlines in Autumn 2018 when it began offering a vegan version of its iconic Pumpkin Spiced Latte for the first time since its launch in 2003.
