Popular snack bar brand Eat Natural is getting set to launch a vegan-friendly snack bar into UK supermarket Sainsbury’s later this month.

The ‘Simply Vegan’ bar is packed with high-fibre plant-based ingredients such as gently toasted peanuts, juicy pumpkin seeds, roasted chickpeas, toasted coconut and sunflower seeds with a thick layer of dark chocolate to complement the natural sweetness of the dried apricots and coconut blossom nectar. Not only is the new bar vegan it’s also naturally gluten-free too.

Eat Natural bars typically contain dark chocolate and are sweetened with honey, although the company currently offers one vegan-friendly snack bar flavour – the maple syrup, pecans & peanuts extra protein bar.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Ashly Volkert, who helped develop the recipe at Eat Natural, said: “Creating a completely vegan bar has been one of my favourite briefs ever.  There are so many incredible ingredients to play with here – the legumes, the dried fruit, the indulgent chocolate… and in this bar they all come together to create the perfect mix. The chickpeas provide crucial texture and an extra fibre boost, so this bar really does pack a powerful health punch as well as a flavour one.”

As part of a two-week introductory offer, a single bar will be priced at 55p before reverting to 79p after two weeks.  The three-bar multipack is priced £2.

Eat Natural will launch the Simply Vegan bar in a single bar and three-bar multipack format in the ‘free from’ aisle of Sainsbury’s stores across the UK at the end of April.
