Christmas will be here before we know it, and the supermarkets are already stocking a vast choice of festive treats for vegans.
This year, Sainsbury’s Christmas range contains everything you need for an impressive festive feast – from a choice of turkey-style roasts to decadent desserts, and even a gammon-style joint!
To help you prepare for the most wonderful time of the year, take a look through the Sainsbury’s Vegan Christmas range for 2021.
Vegan Christmas Dinner
For Christmas 2021, Sainsbury’s claims a first with its Plant Pioneers No Gammon with Maple Glaze (£5.50).
This wheat and pea protein joint is smothered in a sticky maple glaze for a glossy finish and will be available from the 8th December.
Also available in-store and online from the 8th December is the Plant Pioneers No Turkey Crown (£5.75).
The mushroom and pea protein turkey-style roast is filled with stuffing and comes with a sage and onion vegan melt for even more flavour.
If you want to avoid disappointment, it’s also available to pre-order for pre-Christmas collection now.
Sainsbury’s offers another choice for plant-based turkey lovers this year in the Plant Pioneers No Turkey Parcels (£6.00).
These sage & onion stuffed parcels are individually portioned and wrapped in smoked bacon-style rashers.
They’re available through Sainsbury’s Christmas Food to Order service.
For something a little different, try Sainsbury’s new Plant Pioneers No Salmon En Croûte (£5.50).
Made from Sainsbury’s jackfruit, soya, and oyster mushroom-based salmon-style fillets, these puff pastry parcels are made extra decadent with a garlic and dill white sauce.
Available from 8th December, or to order ahead now.
The Taste The Difference Festive Miso-Stuffed Butternut Squash (£5.50) is a sweeter option for Christmas dinner.
Featuring a roasted butternut squash stuffed with miso-marinated mushrooms, kale, chestnuts, and a juicy cranberry stuffing, this roast is sure to be a winner with those who prefer a veg-based main course.
Grab it in-store and online from 13th December.
Another non-meaty option is the Taste The Difference Nut Roast with a Tangy Spiced Orange & Cranberry Glaze (£5.50).
This nut roast is loaded with mushrooms, spinach and squash and topped with pistachios, almonds, and tangy whole cranberries.
It comes with a spiced orange and cranberry glaze to pour over and is available through Sainsbury’s Food to order service.
To accompany your main course, pick up the Plant Pioneers Vegan Trimmings Selection (£5.50).
Available only through the Food to Order service, this selection contains 12 mushroom stuffing balls, lightly seasoned with sage, and cracked black pepper, and vegan mushroom mini sausages wrapped in smoked ‘bacon’ rashers.

For after
If you like to pull out all the stops for your Christmas dinner, Sainsbury’s have made your cheese course easier by offering the Plant Pioneers Cheese Selection (£4.50).
The vegan cheeseboard selection features four tasty cheeses: Caramelised onion cheddar-style, traditional cheddar-style, Wensleydale-inspired with cranberries, and plant-based blue. Available from 1st December.
For a decadent dessert, there’s the Plant Pioneers Chocolate & Salted Caramel Star (£8.00).
Available through the Food to Order service, this rich and smooth panna cotta style dessert is coated in Belgian dark chocolate and includes a salted caramel sauce for extra luxury.
Available in store and online now, the Sainsbury’s Free From Caramel Apple Crumble Slices (£2.00) provide a lighter option for a festive sweet treat.
These pastry base slices have an apple and sultana filling and are topped with a caramel and crumble topping. They’re finished with gold dusted ginger pieces for a bit of gluten-free glitz and glamour.
Also available to enjoy now are the Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Chocolate and Cherry Tarts (£2.50).
Gluten-free chocolate pastry cases are filled with a chocolate and cherry ganache and topped with freeze-dried raspberry and cherry pieces, blackcurrant powder and finished with a gold dusting.
Vegan Party Food
Lay on an impressive party spread this festive season with a selection of chilled and frozen party foods.
In addition to Sainsbury’s existing range of nibbles, like the Plant Pioneers No Prawn Tempura (£2.00) there’s a range of seasonal treats launching on the 8th December.
First up is the Plant Pioneers No Chicken Kievs (£3.00). These jackfruit, potato and soy-based mini kievs are filled with an ‘oozing’ vegan herb sauce.
Joining them are the Sainsbury’s Mini Black Bean Tacos (£3.00). These snack-sized mini taco shells are filled with a spiced black bean filling, and perfect for serving up at parties.
And if you just can’t wait to get snacking on Christmassy treats, Sainsbury’s Christmas Tree Salted Tortilla Chips (£1.50) and Free From Honey Roast Gammon Flavour Tortilla Curls (£1.00) are available now to get you in the festive mood.
And finally, for those who like to enjoy a festive treat on the go Sainsbury’s are offering a Rudolph’s Night Before Christmas Feast Sandwich (£3.00) from 1st November.
This food-to-go sandwich features a star-shaped bun with a fresh carrot & root vegetable patty, umami glazed carrot ribbons, and a caramelised carrot chutney. The reindeer-approved sandwich gets extra crunch with a sprinkling of candied spiced seeds.
