Sainsbury’s is the home of many vegan brands and products entering the plant-based market. But this Veganuary, the retailer is expanding its Plant Pioneers range with 20 exciting new product launches.
Data revealed that over a third of Sainsbury’s customers (34%) are consciously trying to reduce their meat intake, so now is the perfect time to launch new plant-based alternatives for flexitarians and the vegan-curious to indulge in.
Among the new launches are two UK firsts: the No Egg Bites, which replicate mini scotch eggs, and No Pork Belly Bao Buns. What’s not to love?
However, the real stars of the show are Sainsbury’s No Prawn Toast and No Steak Pies. Found in the chiller and freezer respectively, these two un-meaty favourites will demonstrate that veganism isn’t just eating salad, you can eat things you used to love – just made from plants!

The ultimate pizza fakeaway?
Also launching into the range are two new pizzas: a classic Margherita Pizza and a Spicy No Meat Pizza topped with sliced spicy seitan and red and green chillies.
To complete your pizza feast the Not-Zarella Sticks are the perfect addition, packed with melting coconut-based cheese and coated in parsley breadcrumbs.
And why not go all out and share a Macaroni Bake too? The new Plant Pioneers version features a cheddar-style coconut cheese sauce and macaroni pasta, topped with more cheesy deliciousness.
If these new products don’t make your weekly (or nightly) lockdown movie night 100 times better, then we don’t know how else to please you!
Vegan alternatives for everyone
If those launches aren’t enough for you, the remaining new products include:
- No Steak Bake
- No Meat Lasagne
- Cottage Pie
- Vegan Potato Salad
- Vegan Coleslaw
- No Pork Sausage Rolls
- No Chicken Burgers
- Plant Pioneers Spreadable
- Plant Pioneers Block
You can find all of these now at Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, with prices starting from just £1.50.
