Sainsbury’s supermarket has released an affordable range of vegan and cruelty-free products.
The cruelty-free beauty industry has come a long way in recent years with brands shunning animal testing and animal-derived ingredients to create cruelty-free and vegan product ranges. There has also been a boom in the number of vegan beauty brands hitting the shelves, with worldwide vegan cosmetics launches estimated to have more than doubled over the past five years.
Keen to make it even easier for customers to opt for cruelty-free beauty products, Sainsbury’s supermarket has released a huge range of vegan beauty products consisting of 119 own-brand products as it revamps its Boutique makeup line.
Speaking to Bustle UK about the company’s decision to release a vegan beauty range, Beauty Buying Manager at Sainsbury’s, Rebecca Wicks, said: “We’re devoted to developing premium products and providing our customers with a wide range of choice when it comes to our beauty offering.”
Not only are the products free from animal-derived ingredients, they have also been given the gold standard Leaping Bunny certification as none of the products have been tested of animals.
The range of products, which includes things like Breathable Foundation (£5), Colour-Correcting Concealer (£5) and Illuminating Drops (£4) promises users a wealth of benefits from nourishment and hydration to skin brightening.
The best thing is the range is accessible to all as Sainsbury’s have ensured the range is affordable, with products priced at just £2 to £6.
Wicks explained: “We want to make cruelty-free makeup accessible for all our shoppers by providing high quality, trend-led products at affordable prices.”
