Enjoy a taste of the deep South with these tasty new crispy Southern-fried tofu bites from The Tofoo Co. that have just launched in Sainsbury’s

UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has been steadily adding exciting and innovative new vegan products to its shelves months, including fat-free vegan bacon and a selection of snackable pastries from Fry’s, and now it’s launching a new product to delight tofu lovers.

The latest addition to Sainsbury’s vegan range comes in the form of tasty crispy Southern-fried tofu bites (£2.50) from The Tofoo Co.

These deliciously spiced bites consist of handmade tofu made to a traditional Japanese recipe in a crispy crumb to give vegans a tasty alternative to Southern-fried chicken. There’s also Wholemeal Chunkies in a crispy, wholesome, wholemeal crumb for those looking for a less spicy offering.

Describing the product, Tofoo said: “Move over Colonel, there’s new Sheriff in town. Our Southern Fried Tofoo Bites are ready for a showdown at high noon (or teatime) to lay down the law, wrapped in a crisp crunchy coating.

“They’re organic, tasty and made by hand – so you’ll be grinning like a possum eating a sweet potato. Perfect for dipping, spicing up a fajita or simply with chips and peas.”

The Southern Fried Tofoo Bites are available to purchase in Sainsbury’s now.
