UK supermarket Sainsbury’s is selling two new vegan milk-chocolate Easter eggs from Cornish family-firm Buttermilk.
Vegans have never had so much choice readily available when it comes to finding dairy-free Easter eggs as we do this year.
From Sainsbury’s white chocolate strawberry egg to Aldi’s chocolate hazelnut truffle egg, we no longer have to go on an egg hunt to find vegan-friendly Easter eggs as a delicious variety of flavours are available in supermarkets across the country.
Leading UK supermarket Sainsbury’s is keen to give vegans even more choice with the addition of two new vegan milk-chocolate Easter eggs from Cornish family-firm Buttermilk, priced at £6 each.
Lovingly handmade in Cornwall, the chocolate egg’s come in two delicious flavours: Chocolate Orange and Honeycomb. The eggs are made from a mix of cocoa butter, rice flour, and soy to mimic the creaminess of milk chocolate and are certified by the Vegan Society.
The vegan milk chocolate egg with honeycomb comes drizzled with white chocolate and is filled with light and crunchy Honeycomb whilst the chocolate orange egg features sweet orange oil for a zesty kick.
Whilst not available to purchase in Sainsbury’s, Buttermilk also sells a Caramelised Cacao Nib Easter egg featuring 70% single origin Colombian dark chocolate with caramelised cacao nibs and dark chocolate cacao nib clusters via their online store.
According to the company founders David and Tracy: “We’ve introduced a delicious chocolate alternative egg to our collection, free from dairy, gluten and wheat so everyone can enjoy a treat this Easter.
“Our love and enthusiasm for everything sweet has been guiding our Cornish confectionery since 1964. Peek inside our kitchen and you’ll find traditional copper pans bubbling away over open flames to make our award-winning indulgent treats. Happy eating from the Buttermilk family!”
