Rudy’s Vegan Butchers, which opened on World Vegan Day 2020 was an immediate hit, with queues snaking around the streets of London before it had even opened, and the stock selling out within a day.

It seems that this momentum and demand for vegan meats has been maintained, as now the team are moving to a bigger, state of the art kitchen which will allow them to bring back their DIY kits and create new products.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Rudy’s said: “Exciting News!✨Due to overwhelming demand from all you lovely folk, we are moving to a bigger state-of-the-art kitchen. This will give us the capacity to keep up with all your orders and create new plant-based products including bringing back our DIY kits.

“Whilst we get production up and running, our Diner & the Butcher will close from this evening for a couple of weeks, reopening on Thursday 4th February. Thank you for your support, you are helping us make our dreams come true! ✨”

Rudy’s sells a huge variety of vegan meat alternatives, from black pudding to bacon to pastrami. There is certainly no missing out as a vegan!

Working through the night

Demand has been so high for Rudy’s vegan meat alternatives that the team have apparently been working through the night to fulfil orders and fill up the store with stock.

Over Christmas, the vegan butchers sold an ultimate Christmas dinner box which included a Turk’y centrepiece, British potatoes, parsnips, carrots, and even Brussel sprouts with crispy baycon bits. The box also contained extras for a Christmas buffet such as pastrami, Christmas spiced ham, meat-free meatballs and a meatloaf en croute.

These boxes too sold out within hours each time they were back in stock, indicating the huge market for vegan meats. We aren’t surprised they need a bigger kitchen!

Rudy’s Vegan Butchers will be back in action on February 4th from their brand new kitchen.
