Pukka Pies has been hard at work veganising its famous pie flavours to bring the nation a brand-new range of vegan pies!

Pukka Pies have been making pies for nearly 60 years but have no vegan pies for those looking for meat-free options… until now that is!
The UK’s number one hot pie brand has just announced the launch of its first range of vegan pies complete with The Vegetarian Society Approved vegan trademark.
The company has been hard at work reinventing two of its well-loved flavours to make them vegan and is pleased to welcome the new Vegan Chicken & Mushroom pie and Vegan Minced Steak & Onion pie to its range of pies.
The Vegan Chicken & Mushroom pie is filled with soy protein vegan ‘chicken’ pieces with sliced mushrooms and a savoury vegan creamy sauce encased in 144 layers of Pukka’s signature golden puff pastry.
The Vegan Minced Steak & Onion pie offers a new take on the traditional recipe and features minced soy protein vegan ‘steak’ paired with finely chopped onions and a rich gravy.
Perfect for a comforting autumnal meal, Pukka recommends serving the pies with ‘a dollop of tasty mash or chunky chips and a side of fresh veg.’
Pukka’s new plant-based pies will be available to purchase in the vegan aisle at Sainsbury’s from 23rd September (RRP £1.89).
Pukka’s Vegan pies will continue to roll out in supermarkets nationwide throughout the rest of the year.

“As the People’s Pie, we want to make sure there’s a Pukka for everyone. Shoppers are increasingly looking for tasty meat-free options but don’t necessarily want to spend hours cooking,” explained Rachel Cranston, Head of Marketing at Pukka, in a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living.
“Our two Vegan pies tick both these boxes and they’re an exciting addition to our well-loved range, with recipes people recognise and know Pukka for. So, if people are looking for a vegan pie to enjoy, there’s now two tasty Pukka pies available for them to tuck in to and enjoy with their friends and family,” added Cranston.
