High-street coffee shop Pret has announced it will be launching a new range of vegan sandwiches in its Veggie Pret stores.
Pret has teased details of its new range of vegan sandwiches and wraps which will feature vegan versions of its most popular sandwiches.
Consumers have been asking the chain for more vegan lunch options, and so Pret’s team of Food Innovation Managers have been busy in the kitchen putting a vegan twist on four classic sandwiches, baguettes and wraps.
According to the copany, the Vegan Classics, which will be available exclusively in Veggie Pret shops, have been “carefully created ensuring that they taste just like the originals.”
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Pret’s Global Head of Food Innovation, Hannah Dolan, said: “Veggie Pret is a space where we’ve had a great opportunity to experiment with vegan and veggie food. It’s our mission to make it easier for customers to eat less meat, so we challenged ourselves to recreate the delicious flavours and textures of our meaty bestsellers, using only vegan ingredients.
“We’re excited for everyone, (vegans and non-vegans alike), to try The Vegan Classics – and to see if they can tell the difference between the new vegan recipes and the originals!”
The food team at Pret are currently deciding which flavours to give a vegan makeover to, so if you have a favourite flavour you’d like to see on the shelves then head over to Pret’s Twitter or Facebook and let them know.
The Vegan Classics will go on sale in Veggie Pret shops in the coming weeks whilst the fifth Veggie Pret shop is getting set to open its doors in late October in Canary Wharf.
