Two wraps, Italian Pesto + Roasted Veg and Mexican Chipotle Burrito, will hit shelves in Co-op, WHSmith and Wholefoods stores nationwide from June, with an RRP of £4.25.

Meanwhile, a third, Indian Chickpea Masala Wrap, will roll out later this year, with store listings to be announced.

Its vegan wraps, it says, are made from real, whole food ingredients, to make it easier to pick up healthy options when on-the-go.

Vegan wraps

According to Pollen + Grace, the vegan wraps took ‘months of development in [its] kitchen’.

The Italian Pesto + Roasted Veg Wrap is filled with roasted butternut squash and red onion, basil pesto, cannellini beans, slow roasted tomatoes, Kalamata olives and vegan tomato tapenade mayo.

It contains 12 plant ingredients, serving up a good source of fibre and 21 per cent of your daily protein.

Meanwhile, the Mexican Chipotle Burrito Wrap boasts 16 plant ingredients, 25 per cent of your daily protein, and 6g of fibre.

It is packed with cayenne roasted sweet potato, Mexican-style spicy rice, sweetcorn salsa, black beans, red pepper and smoky chipotle vegan mayo.

On-the-go lunch

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, the brand said: “Inspired by the most popular world cuisines, with Italian in the top three favourite cuisines for 51 per cent of Britons, closely followed by Indian (41 per cent) and Mexican (13 per cent) the range is set to make al-desko dining and speedy lunches tastier and more appealing.

“What’s more, with nutrition and super fresh, quality ingredients at their heart, our chef-created wrap recipes are packed with plant power, delivering flavour, protein, and fibre, helping to make lunchtimes a little brighter and healthier.”

It added that with data showing that 47 per cent of Brits take just 15-30 minutes for lunch, most people ‘are in need of a speedy lunchtime option’.

“What’s more… 23 per cent of us feel happier and more awake in the afternoon if we have a healthy lunch, but 48 per cent struggle to find healthy fast food options, and 38 per cent believe it’s impossible to be healthy when having shop-bought readymade lunches,” the brand added.

“Our new wraps deliver a convenient, nutritious, and delicious lunch that ticks all the boxes.”
