Clean Kitchen, the plant-based restaurant concept from Michael Pearce and Verity Bowditch, has announced big plans for its expansion, with six sites planned to open by summer 2021.

In 2020, YouTuber Michael Pearce partnered with Made in Chelsea star Verity Bowditch to start the plant-based restaurant chain Clean Kitchen.

A year on, the duo has grown to one of Deliveroo’s top-rated vegan options and has significant plans for expansion across London.

The chain already has sites in coveted locations such as Chelsea, Camden High Street and Box Park Shoreditch, and by summer 2021 there will be six locations.

As a convenience brand with a grab-and-go format, the plant-based concept has become hugely popular during a global pandemic where dining-in has been eradicated.

Clean Kitchen features vegan comfort food such as ‘bacon’ mac n cheese, ‘chicken’ katsu bowls, and no-meat meatballs. Moreover, the healthy chain also offers on-the-go brunch options such as pancakes the ‘Clean Full English’ packed with vegan bacon, sausages, beans, tofu scramble and grilled veggies.

With hero items such as these on the menu, we’re not surprised that Clean Kitchen is taking off across London!

‘Green’ kitchen

Aside from being ‘clean’ eating, the plant-based chain is also striving to be sustainable, offering a greener option for on-the-go food.

Pearce and Bowditch have been working on an initiative to implement the UK’s first reusable delivery system, which would enable Clean Kitchen to become an entirely carbon-neutral company.

Moreover, the business donates profits to Compassion in World Farming, a charity that aims to eliminate factory farming, even creating a menu item to support the cause. The Compassion Burger is inspired by the Clean Kitchen mascot – Pumpkin the rescued sheep, who now lives on Verity’s mum’s rescue farm.

You can find Clean Kitchen on Deliveroo across London.
