This November, Pieminister’s much-loved festive range returns for another season and this year there’s a new vegan pie to indulge in.
Great believers that everyone should be able to enjoy a good pie, the good folks over at Pieminister have created something really special and it’s 100% plant-based.
Following on from the success of the launch of their first vegan pie, Kevin, Pieminister have created ‘Chooks Away’ – a creamy vegan ‘chicken’ pie with celeriac, smoked garlic and sherry.
Great for vegans and vegetarians looking for a quick and delicious dish to tuck into, Chooks Away is registered with the Vegan Society and carries their trusted Vegan trademark.
Dominika Piasecka, spokeswoman for The Vegan Society, said: “We are delighted to register Pieminister’s vegan pies with our Vegan Trademark. The move shows just how much the demand for plant based food has grown.
“Retailers should remember that vegan products are not exclusively for vegans; in fact, they’re suitable for most diets and religions, and often constitute a safe food option for all. Offering vegan options opens up potential market to not only half a million vegans in Britain, but also to a million more vegetarians, the huge number of meat and dairy reducers, the lactose intolerant, and others who simply enjoy vegan food from time to time.”
As plant-based eating grows in popularity in the UK, Pieminister hopes this pie will not only appeal to the growing vegan community but also encourage others to try a delicious meat-free option.
Chooks Away and Kevin are also available in Pieminister restaurants and cafes, and pie pubs nationwide. Call 0117 950 4567 to find your nearest stockist or have them delivered direct your door through Ocado and Pieminister’s online shop.
