Happy singer Pharrell Williams has announced the launch of his own vegan skincare range in the US. Completely cruelty-free, the range will be inclusive of all races and genders.

Entitled ‘Humanrace’, the new range will consist of three products: a rice powder cleanser, a lotus enzyme exfoliator, and a humidifying cream moisturiser. With sustainability in mind, the products are packaged in grass-green eco-friendly containers made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic. Furthermore, each of the tubs also come with a removable interior chamber, which can be reused and exchanged for a refill. Now that’s what we call green beauty!

Williams seems to be following in Rhianna’s footsteps, claiming “we are all born in the same skin.”

“We believe that every individual has the potential to understand themselves better and wake up everyday feeling empowered to turn good intentions into actions. Our goal is to help you in this quest.”

‘Proud dad moment’

47-year old Williams shared a photo of his new range on Instagram with the caption ‘Proud dad moment’. Met with thousands of encouraging comments, Humanrace is set to be a hit with both fans and those experimenting with cruelty-free beauty. It was about time the seemingly ageless pop star branched into the beauty industry!

The rise of vegan skincare

Vegan skincare ranges have almost tripled in the past seven years according to The Vegan Society, indicating a growing trend for plant-based beauty. Moreover, during Veganuary 2019, Superdrug saw a 750% increase in sales of their own-brand vegan cosmetics.

It’s clear that vegan skincare is the way to target consumers, and Pharrell Williams will be adding another cruelty-free celebrity line to the shelves.

Humanrace products will be available in America from Wednesday, November 25.
