PepsiCo and Beyond Meat are teaming up this year to create The PLANeT Partnership, a joint venture to produce plant-based drinks and snacks.

The collaboration will partner Beyond Meat’s plant-based expertise with PepsiCo’s significant marketing and commercial experience to create what UBS analysts are calling ‘a win-win deal’.

The new products are currently top secret, but if Beyond Meat’s other collaborations are anything to go by, we’re already excited.

This Veganuary Beyond Meat partnered with Starbucks UK to create a Beyond Meat Breakfast Sandwich featuring a Beyond Meat sausage patty, vegan tofu ‘egg’, and a slice of vegan cheese with Starbucks signature tomato relish – delicious!

And if you didn’t know, PepsiCo is on a mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, so this really will be a partnership for the PLANet!

‘Inspire positive choices’

Beyond Meat Founder and CEO, Ethan Brown said: “We are thrilled to formally join forces with PepsiCo in The PLANeT Partnership, a joint venture that unites the tremendous depth and breadth of their distribution and marketing capabilities with our leading innovation in plant-based protein,”

“We look forward to together unlocking new categories and product lines that will inspire positive choices for both people and the planet.

“PepsiCo represents the ideal partner for us in this exciting endeavour, one of global reach and importance.”

‘Build a more sustainable food system’

PepsiCo Global Chief Commercial Officer Ram Krishnan added:

“Plant-based proteins represent an exciting growth opportunity for us, a new frontier in our efforts to build a more sustainable food system and be a positive force for people and the planet while meeting consumer demand for an expanded portfolio of more nutritious products.”

The new collaborative products from Pepsi and Beyond Meat are set to hit the shelves in the US later this year with plans for a UK expansion, and we can’t wait to see what they are!
